Tadao Ando, Peter Marino, and Michel Amar Show New Work at Les Ateliers Courbet

Les Ateliers Courbet has opened their new West Chelsea location with a blockbuster group show, On-Going Dialogues between the Architects and Masters.” Opening in three sections, the show explores the connections between artists and artisans.

The first, opening on November 7, showcases the latest collaboration between Pritzker Prize–winning architect Tadao Ando and Italian art glass house Venini. Titled “Cosmos,” the collection of glassworks creates spheres inside cubes, exploring the Buddhist concept of ‘nothingness.’

The second, “Objets d’Art,” opens the following day and features furniture and lighting designed by Michel Amar with La Fonderie Chapon and Les Marbreries de la Seine. The three tables include one inspired by Monet’s garden in Giverny; five lighting designs include a trio that pay tribute to Alexandre Dumas’s The Three Musketeers, in limited editions of customizable marbles and sizes.

The final show in the exhibit, “Black Belt”, will display new work created by 2017 Interior Design Hall of Famer Peter Marino, also in collaboration with Venini.
