Discover This Collection of Curiously Shaped Lamps
Founder Myrto Grigori nabbed Best in Lighting at the Female Design Council Awards at ICFF for Capsula. The collection of curiously shapely lamps was inspired by—and makes tangible—invisible forces of metaphysics: “gravity, organic growth, and the curvature of space-time,” she explains. Pieces are crafted in New York, where Grigori is based, of locally sourced materials—mouth-blown glass, powder-coated or brushed stainless steel, hand-carved onyx—via processes that minimize waste. The resulting forms, as much art objects as luminaries, “draw from both cosmological theory and the tactile language of sculpture,” Grigori notes. Attuned to spatial proportion, the pieces also reflect her architectural background working on high-end hospitality, retail, and residential projects across Europe and the Middle East—experience Noiro now builds upon with a just-launched interior design and creative consulting arm.
