Ceramicist Devin Wilde Expands Offerings Through DWR
The Brooklyn-based ceramicist holds an architecture degree, and it shows. Mental notes from his long walks spent observing New York’s art deco skyscrapers, classical revival town houses, and the interplay of light and shadow across brickwork and arches find their way into his cocktail tables and vessels, which pass bygone references through a postmodern lens to achieve an architectonic presence. Now, Wilde expands his line of pieces available through DWR with Vessel No. IX: a circular tray poised on a square base and traced, like many of its siblings, with delicate ball accents. Alongside it, he introduces new custom glazes exclusive to the retailer. Three of them—saturated Cobalt, Midnight, and Garnet—draw from classic mid-century palettes, their high-gloss finishes delivering immediate impact. The fourth, a metallic satin, conjures something older and more weathered. . . perhaps the oxidized surface of Roman armor, worn to a soft sheen across millennia of patination.
