Gubi And Bonacina 1889 Team Up On A Rattan Reissue
Rattan furniture’s history extends from ancient Egypt to Victorian England and beyond; in the 20th century, for instance, top designers such as Joe Colombo and Gio Ponti used the vine to create elevated modern objects. That tradition continues today with the first-ever collaboration between Gubi and Bonacina 1889: a reissue of designer/architect Tito Agnoli’s 1964 P3 lounge chair and P3S chaise longue. The pieces showcase the material’s natural warmth on sculptural tubular-steel forms. For the first time, the company is also introducing outdoor-ready editions in high-performance synthetic rattan made from polyethylene. gubi.com/en/us, bonacina1889.it/en-us
