Océane Delain Earns Her Stripes With Ottomans for Bernhardt Design
French designer Océane Delain earns her stripes, so to speak, with the Gallery collection of ottomans for Bernhardt Design, distinguished by a thin welt cord that highlights contrasting hues. “A play of bold colors and materials gives Gallery a carefree vibe and a distinctive personality,” she says. “But in more restrained fabrics and tonal contrasts, the design can look very elegant.” The piece is available as a round ottoman (in four sizes) and as a one, two-, and three-seat capsule-shape bench with mobile casters or nylon glides. For upholstery, choose any Bernhardt Textiles fabric or leather, or COM. Company creative director/president Jerry Helling worked with Delain on her acclaimed Mellow sofa and had been searching for a new opportunity to collaborate. “Océane is intuitively innovative,” he says. “I was confident that with her eye for proportion a simple ottoman would materialize into
a memorable design.”
