Aerial Photography of Northern California Fuels Fireclay Tile Collection
Northern California’s natural beauty has been fueling Fireclay Tile since the company opened more than 30 years ago. Today, creative director Jamie Chappell introduces the Agrarian line of graphic tile, based on aerial photography of local crop formations. Round shapes inform Arable, Harvest, Maze, and Pivot. Squares define Grange and Grove. And different forms emerge, depending on viewer orientation, in Fallow. For all, the red-clay body, produced with a minimum of 50 percent recycled content, receives hand-applied glaze—the brushstrokes bearing witness to each painter’s signature style. The 8-inch squares come in three colorways.
