Christian Lahoude Studio Crafts an Ultra-Feminine Boutique for Shoe Brand Josefinas

Peachy. Petite. Curvaceous. In a word, feminine. In a name, Josefinas, which is the upscale Portuguese women’s shoe brand that just opened its first bricks-and-mortar boutique in NoLIta. Founder Filipa Júlio, a former architect, turned to Christian Lahoude Studio to realize her vision of femininity, nature, and Portuguese craftsmanship for the 540-square-foot space. CLS project designer Karolina Wierzbinska responded by unearthing and repainting ceiling beams, replacing straight walls with curved ones, pouring a concrete floor, and furnishing with a mix of custom and Portuguese designs in a blush palette. The final accessory is a tree hand-sculpted in copper, symbolic of the Josefinas motto: the reachable dream.
