Mut Design Taps Preciosa Lighting for Arched Glass Table Lamps
For his first venture into lighting, Mut Design’s co-founder Alberto Sánchez employed a material equally new to him: glass. He tapped the expertise of manufacturer Preciosa Lighting, a producer of crystal chandeliers since 1724, and the collaboration yielded Chromo, arch-shape table lamps that act as physical manifestations of chromotherapy, the ancient Egyptian practice of using color and light to therapeutic effect. In each iteration, a polished brass structure supports an LED strip and two curved pieces of blown glass—one flat, the other wavy—that interplay opacities and matte or gloss finishes. Green or blue colorways calm; red or pink energize.
