1,000 Paper Strips Comprise Patrick Weder’s Honeycomb Light
Patience is key when commissioning a Honeycomb floor lamp or pendant fixture from
Patrick Weder
. Lead time is typically 14 weeks, but it’s well worth the wait. Inspired by the idea of transforming industrial materials into natural forms, he begins each Honeycomb by manipulating chicken wire into a one-of-a-kind shape. He then painstakingly applies more than 1,000 strips of recycled paper inside the frame and out—the contour developing organically throughout the process. When completed, the floor lamps can be specified with a stand in walnut, brass, or stainless steel.
