A Look Back in Laughter: Gerardine and Wayne Hemingway
Strapped for cash but flush with ideas, Gerardine and Wayne Hemingway started carting their vintage and custom clothing to a flea market in London back in 1982. Soon, they ran a string of 16 stalls-a business that ultimately became Red or Dead, a label that’s snagged many an award from the British Fashion Council.
Those New Romantic haircuts are gone now, but the four wallpapers in the Vintage by Hemingway Design collection from Graham & Brown nod to their namesakes’ retro sensibilities. Each channels a different decade. The 20 ½-inch-wide patterns come as 33-foot rolls. 800-554-0887;
