ADFF 2018 Comes to LA
In a company town, why not celebrate our own cinematically? Yes, the Architecture & Design Film Festival is again coming to Los Angeles. From March 13 to 18, 2018, 30 films, short lengths and features, will unspool in burgeoning DTLA at The Los Angeles Theatre Center, 514 Spring Street. Opening night will feature a VIP reception and feature Big Time, the film following Bjarke Ingels over a five-year period as he works on two projects to alter the New York skyline, Via 57 West and 2 World Trade Center. The second night boasts a double feature. Workplace is Gary Hustwit’s case study of R/GA’s new Manhattan headquarters with appearances by Bob Greenberg, Sir Norman Foster, and Primo Orpilla. Then comes our own editor in chief Cindy Allen’s film on 2017 Hall of Fame inductee Robin Klehr Avia. After the films, Edie Cohen will lead a panel discussion on the workplace, past, present, and future. Among others on the ADFF agenda are: Breakpoint, the founding of Lasvit; Charlotte Perriand: Les Arcs; Building Hope: The Maggie’s Centres; Dries; Getting Frank Gehry; and Frey Part One—The Architectural Envoy. Tickets can be purchased on site or online.
