Axor NYC
has launched a Sample Library Program out of its new Meatpacking District showroom that invites members of the New York A&D community to borrow Axor and Hansgrohe faucets from its 3,000-square-foot showroom to make a selection that best suits their project needs. “As an interior designer, I know how frustrating it can be to work on a project on the Upper East Side and then ask the client to come downtown to the showroom to see something as small as a faucet,” says Kiel Wuellner, Axor’s design studio manager. “With this program, we have the faucet sent right to them, for free.” Once you’re in Axor’s system and issued a library card, all it takes is a phone call to borrow one of the showroom’s more than 400 faucets, including pieces designed by Philippe Starck and Patricia Urquiola. From there, one of the company’s “librarians” or interior designers will coordinate a delivery anywhere in Manhattan in as little as two hours. The selected faucet arrives by courier and comes wrapped in black velvet inside a black box to the project’s location. Once finished (you can borrow it for up to a week), a courier picks it back up. Each non-functioning fixture comes with specs and pricing and is mounted on clear acrylic. “This way the client can see what it would look like with their own bathroom tiles showing through,” Wuellner says.
