“Vi er flyttet ind!” That’s Danish for we’ve moved in, a phrase proudly touted on BoConcept’s website. That’s because the Danish brand recently inaugurated a flagship in Manhattan’s burgeoning Madison Avenue design district, joining like-minded furniture giants Roche Bobois, B&B Italia, and Poliform.

The space showcases iconic pieces from renowned designers like Oki Sato and Interior Design Hall of Fame member Karim Rashid, recipient of a Good Design Award for his curvaceous Ottawa Sofa. With a modular design, Ottawa’s components yield “an infinity of possibilities,” Rashid notes. “There are ten modules—some designed like ottomans, others backless, conventional, or designed so you can sit from three different directions.” Plug into integrated power and USB ports, and accessorize with side tables and backrests for optimal comfort.
