Bolyu Achieves Top Marks in Sustainability
Adairsville, Georgia-based carpet manufacturer
BOLYU
has received top marks in the Sustainability Assessment for Carpet for all of the company’s Nexterra-backed carpet tile. Originally the first carpet manufacturer in the industry to ever achieve Platinum Certification for NSF/ANSI 140, Bolyu has now been re-certified for a sixth year. The company has upheld the highest level of sustainability by following a strict committment to products comprising at least 40 percent post-consumer recycled material.
NSF/ANSI 140 ensures that sustainability performance standards are met all the way from the production of raw materials to the disposal of the carpet at the end of its life cycle. The industry relies on the certification to make informed decisions, and also to generate more sustainable products. NSF/ANSI 140 may contribute credits toward
LEED
certification as well as Materials and Resource points for
Green Globe
, a web-based green building rating program.
Nicolas Bouckaert, president, BOLYU, said in a statement released by the company: “We are very proud to receive the highest possible NSF/ANSI 140 rating of Platinum once again after six years of holding the designation. We continuously evaluate our manufacturing operations, supply chain, and full life cycle of each and every component of our business to find the best ways to reduce our impact on the environment.”
