Design Community Aids Hurricane Sandy Recovery

The New York chapter of the Hospitality Industry Network (NEWH)

is pitching in to help restore and reconstruct the restaurants and bars in New York’s South Street Seaport that were destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. The organization is calling for donations to be accepted during

IHMRS

(at the back of aisle 1100) and at

BDNY

(at the front of aisle 4300) at the city’s

Javits Center

.

Additionally, both IHMRS and BDNY have decided to fund gifts to the

American Red Cross

and are encouraging exhibitors and attendees to support Sandy relief efforts through Red Cross donations. Exhibitors at both shows will also be able to support relief efforts post show by donating show products and booth samples to

City Harvest

and

Housing Works

.

IHMRS runs through November 13 and BDNY runs through November 12. Contact NEWH in their booth at the Javitz or

here

via email for more information.
