Explore the Next Generation of Contract Fabrics with Sunbrella Contract and CF Stinson

Interior Design Managing Director Helene Oberman discusses the next generation of bleach cleanable performance fabric with Lori Roop, director of design at CF Stinson, and Allen Hawks, contract market manager for Sunbrella Contract. The partnership between the two brands began in 2010 and has evolved in response to market needs over the years, heralding the launch of Sunbrella Assure, an environmentally-conscious technology created with healthcare settings in mind. 

“First, over the last 12-to-18 months we’ve had a lot of customers coming to us on the Sunbrella product side looking for products that would make healthier hospitals,” says Hawks. Simply put: “Assure is a technology that we apply to our fabrics that enhances the performance of our fabrics.” Roop notes that CF Stinson was on the same path as Sunbrella in terms of the importance of developing products that comply with the Healthier Hospitals Initiative. Sunbrella Assure, which resists UV light, does just that as a bleach cleanable, flourine-free, water repellent, Healthier Hospitals Initiative compliant, GREENGUARD Gold Certified, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Certified, and Facts Silver Certified product. “Coming from that wellness perspective kind of drove the look of the collection aesthetically, we’ve pulled in a lot of biophilic principles,” she adds.
