Groupe Lacasse Expands U.S. Footprint with Acquisition of Via Seating

In a strategic move to boost product proficiency and manufacturing capabilities, Canadian commercial furnishings specialist Groupe Lacasse has acquired Via Seating, the Sparks, Nevada-based supplier of chairs, stools, and benches targeting the contract marketplace.

Groupe Lacasse chairman and chief executive officer Sylvain Garneau says the purchase will allow both companies to utilize their collective talents, abilities, and knowledge to grow at an even faster pace, while offering customers of both brands shorter lead times on product deliveries.

“The acquisition is of great strategic importance as Groupe Lacasse continues to grow its operational and market footprint in the U.S.,” says Garneau. “It also adds a tremendous amount of seating expertise and manufacturing capabilities to our organization.”

Via Seating president and chief executive officer Chas Hepler remains at the helm of the 30-year-old company, one of the first manufacturers in the contract sector to pioneer 48-hour quick shipping.

“The long-term potential for both companies is stronger together,” says Hepler. “Now is the time to take this next step to continue our momentum and to grow even faster.”
