Incredible Views From New York’s 1 World Trade Center Observatory
See forever. That statement has been trademarked by One World Observatory at New York’s 1 World Trade Center by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. Another architecture firm, Montroy Andersen DeMarco, and an experiential design firm, the Hettema Group, orchestrated the observatory experience, which starts at ground level. Past LED lobby signage, visitors actually head down, first, for an interactive audio display. From there, the elevators zoom to the 102nd floor, nearly 2,000 feet up, in just 60 seconds. On that level and the two below are a restaurant, a shop, and, of course, panoramic views worth the price of admission. The project has just been certified LEED Platinum, to boot.
