Interior Design Receives IIDA Silver Founders Award

On Sunday, June 9, the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) awarded Interior Design with the Silver Founders Award, a first-of-its-kind acknowledgment created in honor of the Association’s 25th anniversary. The award recognizes Interior Design’s seminal early support of the IIDA and its commitment to supporting the continued vitality of the commercial design industry. The award was conferred on to the magazine at the 2019 IIDA Annual Meeting in Chicago.

Interior Design Editor in Chief Cindy Allen accepted the award on behalf of the magazine.

“The one thing that we’ve always felt very passionately at Interior Design is that our organization works together with you, the designers,” said Cindy. “I’ve always taken my position as editor in chief very seriously, in terms of service. You’ve all found your unique voice as designers and we are there to help carry it out into the world.”

The IIDA also posthumously awarded iconic furniture, textile, and graphics designer Florence Knoll with the IIDA Silver Legacy Award. KnollStudio’s Vice President of Sales Jim Lutz accepted the award on behalf of the company.
