NeoCon: Circle of Friends

In another case of the cross-pollination between contract and residential, Studio TK has inked a deal to manufacture and distribute 128-year-old Dutch brand Artifort across North America. Producing select pieces from its North Carolina facility provides clients with shorter lead times and a U.S. shipment point, explains Studio TK president Charlie Bell. Highlights from the seating lineup include Kalm by Patrick Norguet, Pala by Luca Nichetto, Beso by Khodi Feiz, and Nina by René Holten. Similar to Studio TK’s ongoing affiliation with B&B Italia, the arrangement echoes the industry-wide phenomenon of contract furniture manufacturers tapping residential sources. In fact, sister brand Teknion used NeoCon as the launch pad for its new partnership with fellow Canadian furnishings brand Gus Design Group.
