On the Move: HGA, Stantec, and Perkins + Will Welcome New Team Members

Perkins + Will

Perkins + Will has appointed Tom Fortier as principal with leadership in higher education and science + technology. Fortier has more than 30 years of experience, and his academic clients include Stanford, USC, and several University of California campuses.

HGA

Adaheid Mestad has joined HGA as design anthropologist and senior associate in the firm’s Rochester, Minnesota office. Her work focuses on such aspects of design as health, wellness, and cultural institutions, with expertise in cultural anthropology and organizational/social architecture. She most recently served as director of the Minnesota Children’s Museum of Rochester.

Arper

Giovanni Peracin has joined contract furnishing company Arper as group brand and marketing director. Peracin brings experience from fashion companies such as Levi Strauss and Loewe, as well as leadership roles at VF CORP, the Benetton Group, and Geox.

Milliken

Todd van der Kruik has joined flooring manufacturer Milliken as vice president of global design. He will replace Bob Hutchinson, who is transitioning to a consulting role within the company. Prior to joining Milliken, Van der Kruik held positions at Invista and Tandus, and most recently served as vice president of design for Bentley Mills.

Mark Richey Woodworking

Mark Richey Woodworking has acquired the WallGoldfinger brand, which will continue producing furniture for the contract market under the WallGoldfinger Furniture division. Among Mark Richey Woodworking’s goals for the brand include making its successful Arbor and Summit tables available with more competitive pricing.

Carnegie

Carnegie has added Randi Pastrovic to its leadership team as vice president of brand strategy, where she will oversee brand and marketing efforts. Pastrovic brings 15 years of leadership experience in the design industry and has held positions at 3form, Herman Miller, and Wolf-Gordon.

Stantec

Ryan Morson has joined Stantec as associate, transit stations design. Morson has longstanding specialty in the transit sector, and 15 years of experience in the industry. He most recently served as facilities development manager for Amtrak.

Ware Malcomb

Ware Malcomb has acquired the building measurement services company WorkSpace Plans. WorkSpace plans was founded by Jill Burns and Kim Von Der Ahe-Arial and provides “As Built” floorplans using laser measuring technology.

Artaic

Mosaic manufacturer Artaic has welcomed Alexandra Thayer as a residential design consultant. In her new role, Thayer will consult and assist on the design and creation of residential mosaic projects, working with homeowners and supporting the company’s expansion into the residential market overall.

Korn Design

The design and marketing firm Korn Design has joined Gensler to lead their brand strategy, brand design, and digital experience in the Boston office. Korn Design has more than 25 years of experience with design and brand building.

The McBride Company

Two new team members, Kristina Odell and Colin Bright, have joined The McBride Company. Odell was a senior associate at Degen & Degen, where she worked on boutique hotels and multi-family projects, and will join McBride as an architectural designer. Bright has formal training in landscape design and has experience creating brands and packaging for breweries. He will serve as creative signage and graphics designer.
