Piero Lissoni Awarded Prestigious Compasso d’Oro

Piero Lissoni’s career knows no limits—that much is clear. The Interior Design Hall of Fame member and Best of Year Award-winner adds the prestigious Compasso d’Oro to his many accolades. Awarded by the Joint Committee of the ADI and the Fondazione ADI Collezione Compasso d’Oro, the Compasso d’Oro honors Lissoni’s illustrious career, and its impact on Italian design and culture.

Remarking on Lissoni’s design contributions through the years, jury members noted: “A career marked by modernism, a career path consisting of cohesion and method, able to offer reassuring and measured gazes combined with thrilling poetics. A career that has known how to explore and combine different project disciplines, rendering to us the idea of the unitary nature of creative action.”

Now in its 28th year, the award honors various national and international personalities who have distinguished themselves in the realm of design. On the same evening, the jury also awarded a Compasso d’Oro to the SP110 project, an open coupé yacht realized by Sanlorenzo with interiors designed by Lissoni, making for an extra special celebration.

Past winners of the Compasso d’Oro award include Luminaire founders, Gio Ponti, Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Vico Magistretti, Mario Bellini, Richard Sapper, Achille Castiglioni, Paola Antonelli, and Bruno Munari to name a few.
