Pollaro Outfits 2012 Oscars Greenroom
While the seat fillers rushed to occupy empty seats in the former
Kodak Theatre
at last night’s
84th Annual Academy Awards
, celebrity presenters comfortably calmed stage jitters in the event’s greenroom furnished by custom furniture maker,
Pollaro
. The company worked with Los Angeles-based interior designer
Waldo Fernandez
to complete the space, a throwback to 1930’s and 40’s Hollywood glamour. Known for their recreation of early 20th century furniture by designers like
Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann
,
Paul Dupre Lafon
, and Armand Rateau, Pollaro contributed 11 pieces to the greenroom, including a sculpted Macassar ebony club chair and ottoman, a hand-carved cabinet gilded in 23 karats, and a Ceylon satinwood dining table—the entire contribution totaling more than $500,000.
