15 Product Highlights From Feria Hábitat Valencia 2022

In a heady rush of vibrant color, cushy upholstery, and creative versatility, Spanish design returns to the spotlight in the form of Feria Hábitat Valencia this fall. Following a three-year Pandemic hiatus, the show will run September 20-23.

Once again, young designers will earn a shoutout at Nude, the emerging design showcase which will celebrate its 20th anniversary.

Feria Hábitat Valencia 2022 is just in time for the city’s recognition as World Design Capital 2022, which promotes design around the city with a program of events and initiatives.

From a twisted sofa to dive into to a toast to a common waterfowl, to a lamp for plants, here’s a sneak preview of 15 of our favorite new products.

1. Loop & Link by Raw Color for Sancal

Break those chains…or cozy up in them? Loop & Link is a series of playful upholstered sofas formed without hard corners. More links—in various colors, patterns, and sizes—can be added for unlimited chains.

2. Cuac by Dibloo

A cheeky tribute to the expression of a common waterfowl, Cuac by Dibloo is an upholstered seat with a ball-shaped backrest, perfect for a common room waddling (otherwise known as a flock of ducks).

3. Panama Banana by Agota Rimsaite

Evoking seaside nostalgia with a form that hints at surfboards or ship-building, Panama Banana is a lightweight, flatpack sun lounger in birch plywood and polyester rope. A transparent varnish provides weather resistance. “The ropes give an open texture so when you lie down the wind can go through and you feel more refreshed on a hot day at the beach,” says the designer.

A floorlamp that can be transformed into an illuminated plant pot is a standout in the outdoor-friendly Bols collection of metal lamps. Two other metal structures, including a pendant, are also available—all attach to a polyethylene ball base.

9. Kanga by Sitsofa

Distinctively angled legs on an exposed wood frame set the cotton-linen-upholstered Kanga sofa apart. A long life cycle is assured, thanks to weather-resistant varnish applied to the FSC-certified solid Sapele wood (allowing it to move from inside to out) and replaceable covers. An armchair version is also available.
