Ryland Arnoldi and Sam Seidman’s Synesthesia Flooring Collection for House of Tai Ping is Meant to Overwhelm the Senses

Photography by Matt Mendenhal.

Last time we checked in with Ryland Arnoldi and Sam Seidman, they had just launched Wrapped, a studio that merges fine art and 21st-century technology to make wall coverings. The pair have now turned to the floor. Produced by 1956 by Tai Ping, a House of Tai Ping brand that focuses on the hospitality market, the Synesthesia collection is meant to “overwhelm the senses,” Seidman says. Among the 10 patterns are boldly black-and-white Indiana and riotously colored Superba. Hand-tufted in wool, all are eminently customizable.
