Sancal
Its name means tortoise in Spanish, so it’s no wonder Tortuga encourages curling up and retreating from the world. The shell here is similarly all-enveloping—though significantly more cosseting than its namesake. Hiding away and “immersing ourselves in a good novel or drifting off to sleep” were the touchstones for Cristina Alonso, Maria Gómez-Senent, and Isaac Piñeiro of the Spanish graphic and product design studio Nadadora. The cozy-soft conelike seats rotate on ash feet, which come in colorful finishes that complement upholsteries by Febrik and Raf Simons for Kvadrat.
