The

U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC)

is kind of – well, more than kind of – an institution when it comes to sustainability. That’s why it’s such a boon for

Parterre Flooring

to have their product installed in the new building for the USGBC’s Long Island Chapter headquarters in Hauppague, New York. A total interior renovation including floors, furniture and other finishes includes the Wilmington, Mass.-based manufacturer’s premium vinyl flooring in the reception area and hallway of the office space.

To be considered for the project by USGBC-LI executive director Vince Capogna, the flooring and finishes had to have environmental attributes that reflect the policies of the USGBC, as well as durability and easy maintenance. Capogna worked with supplier Task Floors to coordinate the inclusion of Parterre’s flooring in the renovation.

“We’re all working toward a common goal of improved sustainability in our buildings and communities,” says T. Fred Roche, president of Parterre Flooring. “At Parterre, we’re doing our part by delivering flooring products that offer environmentally friendly attributes including extended lifecycle, recycled content, recyclability, LEED points and more.”
