A Fantastical Forest Of Wood Veneers
For Milan Design Week, ALPI transformed its showroom into a dreamy forest to demonstrate just how lively wood veneer can be. The surreal tableau was fabricated of new products by Interior Design Hall of Fame members George Yabu and Glenn Pushelberg of Yabu Pushelberg. Aurora Purple, a shimmering combo of violet, blue, and petrol green tones, was used to craft elements resembling tree trunks. Birch Black and Birch White—which mimic the pale grain of the namesake bark—were showcased on zoomorphic forms evoking mythical creatures. Made of poplar, obeche, and basswood, the FSC-certified veneers are suited to applications including interior architecture, furniture, automotive, and marine. alpi.us/en
