John Sadlon is a highly respected business leader whose career reflects equal commitment to client advocacy and industry advancement. A licensed architect with more than 25 years of experience, he has shaped transformative work environments while influencing the careers of a generation of design leaders. Recognized internationally for his expertise in workplace design, Sadlon is known for a strategic, future-focused approach that elevates design as a business imperative. As Global Practice Leader at Perkins&Will, he leads workplace teams across 35 studios worldwide, championing innovation, service excellence, and measurable outcomes. Over the course of his career, Sadlon has delivered more than 15 million square feet of built work across 58 cities in 16 countries—projects distinguished by their ability to strengthen organizational performance, enhance human health and wellbeing, and elevate the end-user experience. Sadlon’s influence extends well beyond project delivery. A generous mentor and trusted adviser, he is widely sought for his guidance by colleagues past and present, helping them build careers that are both professionally impactful and personally gratifying. His leadership has also left a lasting mark through active involvement in CoreNet Global and the IIDA student mentorship programs, where he continues to inspire and prepare the next generation of industry innovators. Sadlon’s work has earned more than a dozen international design awards and has been featured in Interior Design, The Wall Street Journal, WorkDesign Magazine, Commercial Observer, and numerous other publications. He is an active member of the AIA and CoreNet Global and serves on the International Board of Directors for IIDA. His prior leadership roles include co-chair of IIDA’s Leadership Breakfast and past chair of the Design Professions Council at the Fetzer Institute. In recognition of his sustained contributions to the profession, Sadlon was honored with the Distinguished Service Award by IIDA’s New York Chapter in 2022.
